Android 4.4 KitKat to Launch on Oct. 14,
Says
ReportAccording to a new report, Google may be prepping
for the release of Android 4.4 KitKat on Oct. 14.
AusDroid is reporting that a source has informed
them that Android 4.4 KitKat will be launched on
Oct. 14 alongside the heavily rumored Nexus 5. Along
with that information the tipster also supplied some
of the rumored changes will see in the next iteration
of the operating system.
Firmware availability to older phones
Fragmentation changes (screen resizing)
Miracast updates
New Gallery Visualisation
New APIs regarding animations
Change android default blue to other preset palette
colours
New notification widgets
The site states that they are taking all of this
tipster’s report with a large grain of salt, and we’re
going to suggest that our readers do the same. We
do expect Android 4.4 to launch in the not too
distant future as Google doesn’t typically put up the
new statue for the latest version of Android until
they are very close to launch. The fact the KitKat
statue went up on Sept. 3 certainly leads us to
believe it’s release is not too far off. And with a
phone passing through the FCC recently believed to
be the Nexus 5, which should launch at the same time
as Android 4.4, the evidence is building up that a
launch is imminent.
